On November 21, I will be on a ship that’s departing Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost town in the world, with 100 incredible women from 33 countries on board, bound for Antarctica. It will be the largest ever all-women expedition to the coldest continent. These women, of all ages and backgrounds, have spent 12 months getting to know themselves and one another as part of a global initiative, Homeward Bound, whose intention is to support more women into leadership. Though diverse, these women share a background in science: we need their science to be applied in leadership settings as we seek to solve some of the biggest problems facing our planet.
